I have recently decided to start trimming my friends list. Lately, my life has been very hectic and I just haven't had time to keep up the way I'd like to. If you're one of the people who I've trimmed, please don't take it personally. It was nothing that any of you have said or done. For the most part I'm trimming folks I really don't feel I know that well or that haven't commented or posted in a long time. If time frees up this may change.

Please feel to remove me from your list if you wish...I will understand.

This should probably be taped to your bathroom mirror where one could read it every day. You may not realize it, but it's 100% true.

1. There are at least two people in this world that you would die for.

2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.

3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.

4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you.

5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.

6. You mean the world to someone.

7. You are special and unique.

8. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you.

9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it.

10. When you think the world has turned its back on you, take another look.

11. Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude remarks.

And always remember.....
When life hands you lemons,
Ask for Gin and call me over!!

This may be pointless as [profile] greeneyedtengu and [personal profile] tultema may not have power but....

Are you two okay? I've been wondering how you are but I've been too busy with my own "refugee" status to give the shout for you.

Has anyone talked to them since the storm? Does anyone have their phone number?

At the 1st AMCO we tried to brainwas...I mean convert...I mean...ah, you know what I mean...persuade one of our fellow BCers into coming to LJ. Well she has started her journal so please welcome [profile] mysterylady36 to LJ!

I wonder if we should edit out all those terrible things we said about her. (Just kidding ML36!)

So [personal profile] bountifulpots sent me a very silly mouse pad and I love it! It gave me the giggles. It is a picture of Happy Bunny on a dark blue background and says, "Cute but kind of strange." How B.P. found a mouse pad that so captures my true being I don't know. *grin* I couldn't find a picture of it to share but I found one that I thought was just as funny. Psycho Bunny ).

I love it B.P.--thanks ever so!

I'm just popping in for a moment. Yesterday I had a lovely visit with [personal profile] bountifulpots and now I'm visiting my mother. I'll try to catch up with everyone's journal Monday when I have my own connection again. (It stinks to be without my internet connection!)

Yesterday B.P. made me cookies and tea and took me to a nice sushi place with her family. It was a lovely time...I really enjoyed it. I was very pleased to finally arrive at my mom's because I was getting quite tired of being in the car. (At least the trip from BP's to my mom's was fun because BP gave me a fabulous audio book to listen to. I think I am now in love.)

Today my mom is going through her bookshelves to send me off with a bunch of books to register and release. Whoo! I'll be heading home tomorrow where I will be met by six lonely dogs. Mr. Alrescate got a chance to go see the Kansas City Chiefs (an American football team) play the New England Patriots. He's pretty pleased about that...even though it means we won't see each other until late Sunday evening. I hope I don't start going into withdrawal! *grin*

Of course, never mind that someone else had already 'discovered' the Americas. Perhaps I shouldn't even get started on that as it would lead to the 'Indian with a dot, not feathers' rant.

This weekend flew by with two birthday celebrations and two movies. Saturday the mister and I went down to Branson (the home of tacky) to have dinner with friends at The Candlestick Inn which was nice as we arrived early enough to see the sun set. We had a very lovely dinner. As Greg said, there really isn't anything like good food and good companionship. The night was full of laughter. The mister and I were disappointed we couldn't join the group at a friend's lake house but we had a long drive ahead of us and six dogs who would have been very distraught if we hadn't come home. The mister and I were both ticked we didn't get cheesecake.

Sunday we headed down to Spokane for my grandpa's 79th birthday lunch. There was quite a crowd of us especially when you consider that the majority of the crowd was grandkids and great-grandkids. We had a good time eating too much, looking at my cousin's senior pictures and chuckling over my uncle's 'prank' gift. Then some of the cousins (and spouses) joined up to go see Wallace and Gromit and The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. I loved it...I'll most certainly have to get a copy when it comes out on dvd. To be honest I might have to see it in the theater again if it hits our local "cheap" movie theater. I can't wait to watch it again so I can catch all those little details that they throw in that I don't always notice the first time through.

I was also able to get a bit of a baseball fix while watching the Yankees last night. Now the mister likes the Cards and the Yankees so he's hoping for world series with those two. I'm not too sure the Yankees are going to pull it off myself. The team that wins tonight is going to be facing a well rested Sox team so it will be interesting. After 18 innings yesterday I'm sure the Astros are a bit tired too. I can only hope that works to the Cards advantage. I don't know what I'm going to do when baseball season is finally over. I went into severe withdrawal when the Springfield Cards season finished so when the bigs end I won't have anything to cushion the blow. When does spring training start?
