I haven't posted yet this year!
Jan. 2nd, 2009 04:06 pm;p
So in 2006 I started keeping track of how many books I read in a year. I was bit surprised...but then I realized I read quite a bit of "fluff". I think I read so much fluff because I read so quickly. The fluff doesn't matter so it doesn't matter if a year later I haven't retained much of it.
This year I read about 30 books fewer than last year. I wonder why. *grin* I probably wouldn't have read that many if I hadn't read a few books to the boys while they were in the NICU.
I wonder if my number will go down another 30 this year....

I think this is a good idea
Dec. 17th, 2008 11:49 pmA friend of mine sent me this website...I went and checked it out and it seems like a great idea to me. It only took me a minute...it is free and they do not ask for any personal information.
Here is what my friend wrote:
It takes longer to chose which card to send than it does to actually send it.
This is worth doing!
If you go to this web site, www.LetsSayThanks.com you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services.

Kay's Quotes
Dec. 11th, 2008 06:52 pmOne day she would be a cat burglar, she vowed, creeping in and out of fancy houses--not so much for the diamonds (although accessories are all important) but just so she could wear the outfit.

Kay's Quotes
Dec. 10th, 2008 03:54 pmHe called her "sweetie" and "crumbcake" and "darling" and "baby" and all the things (& more) that she ever wanted to be called. By contrast, she called him "dumbhead." A classic case of opposites attracting.

Kay's Quotes
Dec. 6th, 2008 12:19 pmHe dreamed of elephants every night until, finally, one day he went off on safari to Africa. The elephants there were much smaller than he had imagined, so he went back home and was content to dream.

Kay's Quotes
Dec. 5th, 2008 09:58 pmThere is an artist named Kay Foley who I happen to like. For the next several days I'm going to share her whimsical quotes with you.
"Dream big," she said. "For example, I dream of one day building myself a grand treehouse to live in, and having flowers and chocolate brought up every morning. Anything can happen you know."
You can see her work at http://www.ampersandcards.com

Grow little men!
Nov. 25th, 2008 04:10 pmThe boys are six months old today!
Of course if they had been born when they should have been they would almost be three months old. ;-)
They are celebrating by having a bath. ;-p

Trimming...
Oct. 20th, 2008 11:09 pmI have recently decided to start trimming my friends list. Lately, my life has been very hectic and I just haven't had time to keep up the way I'd like to. If you're one of the people who I've trimmed, please don't take it personally. It was nothing that any of you have said or done. For the most part I'm trimming folks I really don't feel I know that well or that haven't commented or posted in a long time. If time frees up this may change.
Please feel to remove me from your list if you wish...I will understand.
