Yes Albert I believe!

It was a fantastic night for this baseball lover. I was all over the emotional spectrum. First there was hope as the St. Louis Cards were a run ahead, then that deflating feeling as the Astros gained a two run lead, then in the eighth inning the resurgence of hope as first Eckstein gains a base and then steals a base, when Edmonds takes a walk with Pujols coming to bat there was a wild surge of belief that it could happen. When the fans of the Astros gasped in horror I was bouncing around and hollering. What a game! There were several fine plays (on both sides). This is what baseball is all about! Lord I love this game.

The Cards are heading back to St. Louis! Now they just have to win two more in a row....they can do it! I have faith!

Here is a picture I took of Pujols in Chicago last year. I'm hoping he gets back to Chicago this year!! Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I used to really love baseball. Not that I ever fully understood it, but I really enjoyed watching it and the feelings you describe. Back during the strike in the 90's, though, I stopped watching. I got fed up with them. I never was able to get back into it because I was reminded constantly how many of them are there for money, not love of the game. When I get a cravin' for baseball, I go pop in Field of Dreams. :)

I'm lucky.

My family was never 'into' sports and I didn't discover baseball until I was around 26 so I learned to love the game after the strike. So I was lucky to miss the bad taste that the strike left in many people's mouths. I also was taught my appreciation by a Cubs fan and came to enjoy guys like Mark Grace who probably weren't making as much money but seemed to love playing the game.

Since that time my town has gotten a minor league (Double A) team and I've had a blast watching those kids play their hearts out. I've learned a lot about baseball by watching the minor leaguers too. I also have to admit my favorite baseball movie is the other Kevin Costner movie 'Bull Durham.'

Lots of happy dancing here too!

I saw a guy walking around yesterday wearing an Astros shirt...maybe he thought it was safe since he was Illinois, but not this part of IL! It's all Cards here...and it makes sense because we live so close to St. Louis. No one beat him up that I saw...lucky for him!

I'm not sure if he was brave or stupid.

Wearing an Astros shirt that close to St. Louis isn't very wise.

I saw a sign for a gas station today that read, "Albert for President." It made me smile....
