This morning as I was rushing around like a chicken without a head* trying to get out to work and I stepped out the front door to let in my ole Watson dog. There, shining in the morning's light was a spider's web. The way the light hit it made it look iridescent. I took a moment to appreciate the beauty of the finely made web and then dashed back into the house to grab the camera. I didn't get a good picture of it but that isn't going to stop me from sharing it! And don't worry [profile] shadiehawke and [profile] antof9 there isn't a spider on it!

I wanted to take a picture but I also felt I *should* as I felt bad about the fact that this little spider had made such a lovely web & I had to tear it down. As you will see in the picture the web is very close to one of our hummingbird feeders and webs are very bad news for hummers.

Thank goodness I had this brief moment this morning because the rest of the day has been a monster.

*If you want to know about a chicken's without heads you will have to check out [profile] eireannaigh's homesteading blog. You can reach it here: http://a-homesteading-neophyte.blogspot.com/.

You dork. :D Trying to drum up some more readers for me? I don't think talking about chickens sans heads will do it. ;)

The web is very pretty.

What a thoughtful person you are to think of taking a photo of a spiders handiwork before you had to destroy it :-) Hope tomorrow is better for you!

It made me smile to hear that Watson is still around. I have a great many memories of him and you when I was in college, over at your house watching "Wild At Heart". Did you know that you were the first one to introduce me to W. Burroughs and Alan Moore and (so that people know who to blame) "The X-Files"?

I'm to blame for all that? It's so nice to know I managed to warp at least one young mind. *grin*

Watson turned 15 this year....he's been my buddy for a long time. (And I hope he's around for a lot longer.)

I was doing the math last night, and I thought he would have to be around that age now. Good work for a poor little diabetic puppy that was never supposed to make it, huh?
