What does it say about me that the highlight of my weekend was spotting an albino skunk while driving home? Yeah, you are right...I don't get out much. I didn't get a great view of it as it was scurrying off the road but it was quite a surprise. It was white with a light grey tail. (I say the tail was grey but it was just dark enough that I could see the white strip down the middle.) I don't think my husband was quite as excited as I was. *grin*

I would have thought that was cool, too! I used to want a de-scented skunk for a pet.

Cool!!!!!!

I bet that was awesome!

I love skunks, from a safe distance. ;)

Are albino skunks very rare?

Forgive me if I am being particularly naive but as we don't have them I am a little unsure. I know they are usually black with white down the back and their smell is particularly potent but that is about the sum total of my knowledge!

Albino animals are quite rare in the wild as they usually don't survive long. This is due to the fact that they lack the usual camouflage their particular breed has developed. Most albino animals I have seen are in zoos.
